Hardness of 420 Stainless Steel
The 420 grade, which contains 12%-14%chrome, is ductile when annealed but can be hardened up to Rockwell Hardness 50HRC. This is the highest Rockwell Hardness of any of the grades. Hardening and polishing can achieve the best corrosion resistance.
