Equipment and parts
Stainless steel material 304L stainless steel, also known as ultra-low carbon stainless steel, is a versatile stainless steel material that is widely used to make equipment and parts that require good comprehensive performance (corrosion resistance and formability).
CHEMICAL COMPOSITION | C | Si | Mn | P | S | Cr | Ni |
≤0.030 | ≤0.75 | ≤2.00 | ≤0.040 | ≤0.015 | 18.00-19.00 | 8.00-10.00 |
MECHANICAL PROPERTIES AFTER COLD ROLLING AND FINAL ANNEALING | Rp0.2 | > 230 N/mm2 | |||||||
Rm | 540 - 670 N/mm2 | ||||||||
Elongation | > 45% | ||||||||
Hardness | < 200 HB |
WELDING | 304L is suitable for all conventional welding techniques.This grade does not require thermal treatment after welding. |
INTERGRANULAR CORROSION | 304L due to its low carbon content ≤ 0.03%, is more resistant to intergranular corrosion than 304. |
CORROSION RESISTANCE | Cr-Ni austenitic stainless steels exhibit high corrosion resistance in a wide range of applications. For instance, these steels have corrosion rates lower than 0.10 mm/year in the following media: -20% acetic acid at 800C. -90% formic acid at 200C. -20% phosphoric acid at 600C. -20% nitric acid at 500C. -90% sulphuric acid at 200C. -Toluene. -Milk. -Beer. -Juice. -Wine. |
